The Buccaneers had a ton of players step up en route to their Super Bowl victory against the Chiefs, but not everyone will see their role continue to expand.
It’s hard to see players take a step back after playing so well on a championship team. That isn’t to mean that some Buccaneers have become bad players since winning the Super Bowl, but to pretend that the team will look and play the exact same as 2020 with the same roster is dangerous.
Yes, all of the starters are back and should be able to retain their form from a few months back, but complacency is a killer in the NFL.
To make matters worse for those who fear change, Bruce Arians is about as far from complacent as a coach can be. It doesn’t matter how good you are; if you mess up, you are under the microscope immediately. Even Tom Brady gets held to a high standard by the Buccaneer skipper, so you know that everyone else is constantly under evaluation by the staff.
This process is difficult but works wonders. It ensures that the best players are on the field, which will keep the Bucs in contention for another Super Bowl.
Unfortunately, the following players could see their roles diminish for various reasons after promising 2020 seasons.
